Emerald City is located in Downtown Pittsburgh at 213 Smithfield Street, Pittsburgh, PA, 15222. We encourage interested artists and small art organization leaders from Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland counties to participate!

This session will allow artists to dialogue, explore and visualize how to support a full-time art career based on the location of their home base, personal standards of success, and the type of work they enjoy. Artists will identify and focus on how their unique practice and transferable skills can lead to multiple income streams.

The Diverse Arts Income Streams ATCA session will feature Maggie Negrete and Keah Adams.

Maggie Lynn Negrete is a storyteller & cheerleader of curiosity, available for commissioned illustration, lettering, divination and educational experiences. A proud Pittsburgh resident and Vassar college alumni,  Negrete’s visual art focuses on zinemaking, hand lettering, portraiture and technical illustrations including infographics for freelance clientele as well as occult & botanical designs for individual merchandise under the brand La Mama Magia. Negrete is affiliated with the #notwhite Collective, the Society to Preserve the Millvale Murals of Maxo Vanka, and BOOM Concepts.

Keah Adams is the founder of Art By Venus Studio, an art and Design Company based in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. “In the works I create, I attempt to portray retrospection, vulnerability, and the processes of self realization over time. I attempt face emotional vulnerabilities—and encourage striving for self connection and connection with others, as well as debunk the myth that it compromises emotional safety.”

Each ATCA session component includes – take-home practice activities to aid in the comprehension and understanding of the information provided in the career reflection sessions. BOOM will provide a learning stipend, lunch stipend, and accessible attendance options (digital and IRL).  After each session, BOOM Concepts staff will conduct 1-1 follow-up coaching (Office Hours) with participants to ensure an action-based approach to their practice.
