We are thrilled to present this group exhibition celebrating the BOOM Universe @ Radiant Hall residency. This exhibition marks the first jointly presented showcase of resident artists sharing work with each other from the BOOM Universe and Radiant Hall partnership. Rooted in shared values of empowerment and equity, this ongoing partnership highlights the transformative power of collaboration in supporting sustainable artistic careers.
Since 2021, Radiant Hall has hosted resident artists from the BOOM Universe Residency at its Homewood location. Through the residency, artists have received access to studio space, professional and business development resources, studio visits, critique sessions, artist stipends, proposal development sessions, and more.
As quoted by Marina Balko, executive director of Radiant Hall, “The work of the four most recent BOOM Universe residents reflects a wide range of artistic practices and thematic explorations. This exhibition captures their creative evolution and dynamic perspectives—each artist contributing meaningfully to the cultural landscape of Pittsburgh and beyond.”
Artists that will be presenting artwork in the “Group Hang” exhibition include Imani Batts, Rachel Equity, Sandra Gould Ford, and Richena Brockinson. The exhibition will open Sunday, June 8th at Emerald City (213 Smithfield Street, Downtown Pittsburgh) from 1P-4P and will feature an artist talk facilitated by D.S. Kinsel. The closing date of Thursday, July 17th (6P-8P) will be a social gathering featuring small bites and a toast to cap off the exhibition.
The Group Hang exhibition and Residency were made possible by the generous support of Arts, Equity, & Education FundTM
